For wall colors, I'm thinking more in gray tones rather than tans with accent colors in rooms following a color wheel: blue in this office, greens in the adjacent living room, yellow in breakfast area, oranges in kitchen, reds in dining room, and purples at entry making a full circle.
This living room will become an office. Need something to close off the room when needed. Something like an accordion door separator would be good. 6' opening here, 5' 4" to front entry. For storage, we need a wall of cabinets like the den with shelving above, possibly Ikea Expedit. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/series/09064/ Wall could be painted a blue so that it shows through the white shelves. Desk extending out from the shelving creating a work station from either side of it. Office chairs: Jacobsen Swan chairs on wheels if possible.
Fan will be from g2art.com Artemis in Koa to match our twist side table http://g2art.com/products/artemis-ceiling-fanPurple accents, New chandelier, spindles?, paint? Jeannette wants something to be able to close the 2nd floor opening there.

cable rail systemDining room, red accents. New paint and light. We have a mostly red striped wool rug in our living room that is really meant for a dining room. Could use it or not.
We have a dining table for 6 ina bit of a deco style, but I'm open to looking for something more modern. Eames Eiffel chairs with a glass or natural wood table for 8. This parquet floor would be awesome in the whole house as well: http://www.madaboutthehouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/eames-eiffel-chair-wooden-legs-5.jpegPaint, reface cabinets, tile fireplace wall. Replace marble, remove mantle? Green as the accent color. Gray/silver walls? Furniture: will use our leather sofa/loveseat, coffee burlap cubes, maybe our leather ottoman, TO BUY: green Jacobsen Egg chair, accent/reading light, Noguchi coffee table(?), 3 bar stools (Arne Jacobsen Series 7 style for here and breakfast area for consistency?)
yellow to orange accents. Mango/blood orange All new tile, reface cabinets, quartz or soapstone counters, new appliances, and over/under cabinet lights. Beverage fridge where desk is now and replace above cabinet so that it is not raised. Move three recessed lights to be over the counter/new bar. Dark grey floor (slate?) that I may extend out to cover the patio.
Should we just go with new cabinets to go all the way to the ceiling?
